How to send a fax from email

There are 3 methods to send Faxes:

  1. Send by email*
  2. Drag-n-drop using the web interface/portal
  3. Print to fax (requires driver installation)

*Note: This feature will only work from an email address associated with an active account in our system.

Addressing the email

To send a fax from email, compose a message from your email.

In the [To:] field, type the 11-digit fax number (prefix a 10-digit number with 1), followed by @send.netofficefax.com.

So, to send to (888) 555-1212 address the email to 18885551212@send.NetOfficeFax.com (see diagram)

*NOTE It is important always to use an 11-digit fax number when formatting the email. This means you need to include a "1" for faxing any number in the USA or CANADA.

Faxes sent via email are limited to 10 recipients or less. Attempting to send to more than 10 recipients will result in an error.

Populating info onto a cover page

If you have your cover page setting turned on, NetOfficeFax will automatically take details from your email and populate them directly onto a cover page.

The email subject line will populate the RE: field of the cover page.

The body of the email will populate the Comments field on the cover page.

Attach your document to fax

You can attach multiple document types when sending a fax from email (see below).

You can attach a single document or multiple documents (varying the formats in a fax is fine) and they will be rendered, converted to a faxable format, and sent to your destination fax number.

Once your documents are attached, simply hit SEND. That's it! We'll take care of the rest.

Allowed Email Attachments (supported file types):

  1. Image Files (TIFF, GIF, PNG, JPEG)
  2. Adobe Acrobat Files (PDF)
  3. Microsoft Office Files (DOC, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX)
  4. Printer File Formats (PCL, EPS, PS)
  5. Text Files (TXT, RTF)

TIPS: If you create a file using a scanner or print to file, always choose the option of black and white for the output.
